As the Chief Executive Officer, Ric drives Univest’s vision and directs the firm’s operations. Ric formed Univest in 1985 by leading a management buyout of EF Hutton’s mortgage business and was later awarded a contract to create and manage the Resolution Trust Corporation’s (RTC) Central Loan Database System during the savings and loan crisis in the mid to late 80’s. Under Ric’s leadership, Univest was recognized in Inc. Magazine for two consecutive years as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States. In the mid 1990’s, Ric sold Univest’s mortgage finance businesses to pursue real estate and private equity investments.

Ric brings an extensive and reputable history of excellence in savings and loans, private mortgage insurance, investment banking, and mortgage finance industries. He has consulted with thrifts, commercial banks and regulatory agencies in the areas of loan portfolio and asset/liability management, mergers and acquisitions, mark-to-market loan and asset valuations, yield and earnings improvement and strategic business planning.

Ric earned his BBA in Finance from Georgia Southern University. He serves on the Georgia Southern University Foundation Board and is an elder at Perimeter Church. He and his wife, Debra, reside in Alpharetta, GA and have three grown children.
